Research Focus

My research is based on the development nanomaterials, polymers, and nanocomposites for water treatment. To name a few, these can be applied in producing clean and usable water from different wastewater streams ranging from domestic, industrial, as well as acid mine drainage. Furthermore, the nanocomposites can be tailored to fabricate membranes (filters) that can enhance potable water availability by desalination seawater via reverse osmosis at a fraction of the traditional price that hinders investment in this technology.

Projects

  • Ultralow pressure and low cost reverse osmosis membranes for the desalination of brackish and seawater.
