Research Focus

India still faces major challenges in terms of agricultural sector development, to meet its demographic challenges and to provide food security in the next 30 years. It is therefore high time that an integrated national action plan, internally consistent with realistic funding and administrative mechanisms for registration and mass commercialization of biopesticides in India to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (No. 2). Keeping in view the aforementioned my major research focus for 2021-2023 would be understanding the following:

1. The issues related to the quality assurance of biopesticides in India
2. The regulatory barriers for the commercialization of biopesticides in Indian scenario
3. Investigating the industrial constraints in the mass production of biopesticides in India
4. To develop a National strategy for the synthesis of policy support, quality control, regulatory management and intellectual property issues of biopesticides for sustainable agriculture in India
