Dr. Abhinav Jindal has nearly two decades of experience in various areas related with techno-economic and commercial aspects of Indian energy sector. His research is focused on issues at the interface of economics, sustainable finance, energy and environment. He has co-authored research outputs with several eminent institutions such as the World Bank, Imperial College London, Cambridge, Oxford, IIM Calcutta, and others. In 2022, he was ranked 65 in India based on ABDC research rankings for research output.
His research is focused on:
(i) Understanding transition risk for coal plants/utilities,
(ii) Accelerating and monetizing coal retirements,
(iii) Developing financial instruments for undertaking energy transitions in South East Asia (SEA) including India,
(iv) Financing energy transitions,
(v) Futureproofing State owned enterprises (SOEs)
(vi) Repurposing coal plants/mines, and
(vi) Other related energy policy issues
His articles on economic issues have featured in Economic Times, Indian Express, IEEFA etc. He has also been invited for guest lectures at IIM Indore, PDEU-SPM Gandhinagar, NTPC- School of Business, JGBS (O. P. Jindal Univ.) and UPES. He is also a recipient of Karamveer Chakra Puraskar 2012
