Research Focus

Courtney L. McCluney is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior in the ILR School at Cornell University where she researches how organizational practices, norms, and processes marginalize specific groups. Courtney’s research interests are primarily in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizational contexts, and centers on the lived experiences of Black employees. She previously worked as a Research Fellow at Catalyst, Inc., and helped to launch research on the “emotional tax” that people of color experience in workplaces across North America. Her work has been covered in the Harvard Business Review, NPR The Forum, Fast Company, and she is a contributing writer to Forbes.
