Research Focus

I am a Microbiologist and Environmental microbiologist with research interests in groundwater quality assessment, treatment of wastewater and toxicology of emerging environmental contaminants. My research focuses on chemical, physical and natural pollutants of groundwater and its monitoring techniques; Investigating the various biofilms associated with microbiome used in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) using NEXT Generation Sequencing Technology and bioinformatics; Investigating and monitoring pharmaceutical and heavy metal concentrations of wastewater, thereby contributing to Goal 3: Good health and Wellbeing; Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; Goal 13: Climate Action; Goal 14: Life below Water, etc of the UN SDGs.
