Research Focus

Multi- and cascading hazards, disasters, and resilience in hyper-expanding cities and their catchments. This work examines the role of culture, social and economic policies and natural hazards (mediated by changes to both the climate and human processes) to disasters and to the resilience to those disasters. In general terms, my research focuses on the role of the human process as a geological process, writ large.
